Neologisms in the modern Italian language (on the material of social networks)

Abstract

The article deals with morphological and syntactic neologisms in the modern Italian language. The basis of the study is the neologisms of the Italian language found in such social networks as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. Lexical composition is the most variable system of the language. All modern realities are reflected in the vocabulary of the language, which is sensitive to any changes in a particular area of life. Any new concept generated by human activity in various spheres will certainly acquire a designation in the language. Thus, neologisms appear in the language, which obviously affects the trends in the development of society. Neologisms are not only linguistic units generated by the internal means of the language, but also borrowings carried out from other languages. Social networks, of course, are a powerful tool for replenishing the lexical composition of the language and are increasingly attracting the attention of linguists and lexicographers. We have analyzed the main ways of forming neologisms in the field of social networks in the Italian language. Nowadays neologisms are a very active process of updating the vocabulary of the Italian language, which determines the relevance of our research.
