Professional foreign language training In Russia and abroad

Abstract

The development of the system of education in the world today is marked by major transformations associated with new requirements for educational institutions. The globalization processes in education: participation of Russia in Bologna process, the standardization of education, the development of a two-level education system – draw the attention of researchers to study the experience of foreign countries in transformations in the system of education and language education, in particular.

The article provides the regulatory framework for organization of higher language education, lists the main trends in language education. The authors of the article consider the programmes for language specialists training in Ireland (Trinity College), the USA (Harvard University) and Russia (Kazan (Volga region) Federal University). The researchers come to the conclusion that the programmes presented in educational institutions of higher education are aimed at developing creative thinking, the ability to collaborate and interact with people in the context of intercultural communication. The desire of a professional to meet urgent political, economic, socio-cultural requirements, to gain knowledge, to develop professional, personal, social and life skills is a valuable quality of a specialist in the 21st century.
